Duration: Academic Year 20252026 (Fall & Spring College Semesters)
Work Arrangement: In-Office / Part-Time

As a family-owned business committed to operational excellence, we are now exploring how AI technologies can streamline our workflows, enhance decision-making, and support engineering, manufacturing, and administrative functions. We use the Made2Manage ERP system and are focused on deploying custom GPTs and AI agents to optimize internal processes across departments.

Role Overview
As an AI Intern, you will work directly with MACs leadership and IT team to design, build, and implement custom GPTs and AI-driven agents. These tools will help automate repetitive tasks, support cross-department communication, and enhance productivity in areas like manufacturing operations, quoting, supply chain, engineering support, and customer service.
This role offers hands-on exposure to AI tools within the context of a real-world manufacturing and engineering environmentgiving you a unique opportunity to apply AI in a traditional, high-impact industry.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, fine-tune, and test custom GPTs using OpenAI's platform or similar LLM tools.
Build AI agents that interact with internal systems, such as Made2Manage (ERP), Microsoft 365, or CRM tools.
Partner with stakeholders in departments like engineering, purchasing, and customer service to identify workflow automation opportunities.
Document AI workflows, APIs, model usage, and performance metrics.
Create user-friendly prototypes and present findings to senior leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Basic proficiency in Python and working with REST APIs.
Understanding of LLMs (Large Language Models), prompt engineering, and AI agent frameworks.
Familiarity with GPT-4 or similar models via OpenAI or comparable providers.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Preferred Skills
Experience with frameworks like LangChain, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel.
Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS, Chroma).
Understanding of ERP systems (Made2Manage is a plus) and business process automation.
Experience using Git/GitHub in a team environment.
Interest in manufacturing, infrastructure, or industrial applications of AI.
