Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Full-Time
Location: Lincoln Park, NJ
Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Pay Information:
- Base Rate: $18.70/hour.
- Weekend Rate: $19.70/hour.
Job Overview:
Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services , is seeking a compassionate and experienced Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team at the Lincoln Park Group Home in New Jersey , supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
As a Lead DSP, you will work closely with Group Home Managers to ensure high-quality care, compliance with standards, and smooth communication with guardians, healthcare providers, and community agencies.

Responsibilities:
Lead DSPs provide guidance, supervision, and mentorship to residents and DSP staff while supporting the daily operations of the group home. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with Group Home Managers to ensure all aspects of care meet program standards.
- Communicate effectively with guardians, doctors, and community agencies.
- Provide direct care and support to residents, including:
- Daily living skills (cooking, housekeeping, hygiene).
- Health and wellness (personal medical care, healthy living).
- Community participation (shopping, recreation, outings).
- Social and emotional development (coping skills, communication, friendships).
- Budgeting and money management.
- Mentor and provide guidance to DSP staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with agency policies and procedures.
- Promote independence, dignity, and autonomy for residents.
Qualifications:
- 21 years or older.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 3 years experience as a DSP with behavioral clients.
- 1 year of lead/supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete:
- State and Federal criminal background checks.
- Drug screening.
- Pre-employment physical and PPD.
- Willingness to complete all required orientation and pre-service training.
