Specialized Recruiting Group is hiring for a full time Water/Wastewater Project Engineer on a full-time, direct basis in Newark, NJ Our client is an ENR Top 500 consulting engineering firm founded more than five decades ago. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful water and wastewater infrastructure projects while advancing your career within a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare engineering designs, technical specifications, and construction documents for water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and treatment facilities
- Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling to evaluate and optimize system performance and capacity
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including coordination of environmental permitting requirements
- Support municipalities and utility clients with NJDEP compliance initiatives related to drinking water and wastewater regulations, reporting, and infrastructure planning
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in water/wastewater engineering, including design and project coordination
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling software such as EPANET, WaterCAD, and SewerGEMS
