Job Description
Lincoln Transportation LLC is excited to announce a career opportunity for a dedicated and experienced individual as a Flatbed NE Regional Class A Driver. As a Class A Driver in our company, you will have the chance to drive across the beautiful Northeast region, including states such as NJ, MD, PA, NY, MA, ME, NH, CT, RI, VT, and DE. The ideal candidate will enjoy not just the security of being part of a stable and growing company but also the comfort of being home some nights, along with weekends and potentially additional nights depending on home location.
Please note, this is not a remote job, as the nature of the work requires direct, onsite engagement to ensure the safe and timely transportation of commodities like Wallboard, Plywood, Lumber, and Steel Pipe, among others. Our drivers handle a mix of preloads and live loads, and top-performing drivers can expect to earn between $1500-$1700 weekly, placing them in the top 25% of their field in terms of earnings.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport goods and materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations.
- Handle documentation concerning transported goods and received payments as necessary.
- Ensure the proper loading and unloading of cargo.
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Monitor traffic conditions to avoid delays.
- Use equipment and tools necessary to maintain and secure cargo during transit.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid Class A CDL.
- Minimum age requirement: 22 years old.
- No DUI offenses in the past 5 years.
- Acceptance of felony records on a case-by-case basis.
- No failed drug or alcohol tests.
- At least 12 months of Over-The-Road (OTR) experience is required, with at least 6 months specific to flatbed.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- No recent moving or driving violations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
- Willingness to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
- Strong logistics and time management skills.
