Landscape Gardening Crew Member

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Fine Gardener Crew Member to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing high-quality gardens and landscapes, ensuring they remain healthy, aesthetically pleasing, and true to their design intent. You will also be responsible for installing new landscape designs to enhance a property. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, extensive knowledge of plants, and horticultural practices, and a dedication to creating beautiful, sustainable outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance of garden beds, including weeding, pruning, deadheading, mulching and watering. 
• Perform detailed pruning and trimming of plants to enhance their health and appearance.
• Plant and care for a diverse range of flowers, shrubs, trees, and perennials, following detailed planting plans. 
• Monitor plant health and identify pests, disease, nutrient deficiencies, and notify the correct personnel to correct the issue. 
• Use hand tools and small power equipment for gardening tasks and installing new plants, ensuring safety and efficiency. 
• Uphold the vision of the landscape and make suggestions for improvements or seasonal enhancements. 
• Ensure gardens are tidy, well-maintained, and visually appealing at all times. 
• Stay up to date with best practices in sustainable gardening, organic methods, and current trends in horticulture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fine gardening, horticulture, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of plant species, growth habits, and proper care techniques. 
• Familiarity with garden pests and diseases.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks. 
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Proficiency in operating landscape equipment
• Attention to detail and a keen sense of aesthetics. 
• Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. 
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
