JOB DESCRIPTION:

Senior Engineer for Patching is responsible for managing and optimizing the patch management process using Tanium. This role involves ensuring the security, compliance, and efficiency of systems across the organization by implementing and maintaining effective patch management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize the patch management process using Tanium.

• Configure and manage Tanium to deploy patches, software updates, and configuration changes to endpoints, ensuring compliance with organizational security standards.

• Ensure the security and compliance of systems by conducting regular patch assessments and remediation.

• Develop and implement patch management policies and procedures to enhance the overall security posture.

• Collaborate with IT, security, and other departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of patch management solutions.

• Collaborate with the vulnerability management team to identify and prioritize patching efforts based on risk and business impact.

• Support the deployment of patches, software updates, and configuration changes to endpoints using Tanium.

• Troubleshoot and resolve patch management-related issues, including patch deployment, software update, and configuration management

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and support staff.

• Monitor and report on the performance and compliance of systems, identifying and addressing any issues or gaps.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in patch management and security.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in patch management, with a strong background in Tanium.

• Strong technical skills in system security, patch management, and compliance.

• Strong technical expertise in Tanium, operating system administration (Windows, Linux, macOS), and patch management tools.

• In-depth knowledge of patch management best practices, industry standards, and compliance requirements.

• Experience in developing and implementing patch management policies and procedures.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Relevant certifications, such as Tanium Certified Operator, Tanium Certified Analyst, CompTIA Security+ or similar, are a plus

Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

• Proficiency in using patch management tools and technologies.

• Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in patch management and security.

Work Environment:

• This role may require occasional travel to different office locations.The Senior Engineer for Patching will work closely with various departments, including IT, security, and facilities management, to ensure the successful implementation and operation of patch management solutions.
