Job Title: Mechatronics & Robotics Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician to support the Operations Maintenance team in Florence, NJ. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment and automated packaging and distribution systems. This is a contract-to-hire position with flexibility required for working any shift.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
• Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment such as conveyors.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
• Perform battery changes and preventive maintenance on batteries.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, and relays.
• Enter downtime data in daily logs and complete PM sheets.
• Track and store department inventory, including spare parts.
• Maintain a positive working relationship across all the facility.
• Move up to 49 lbs and stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Potential travel up to 20% at a minimum.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1 year of experience with PC competency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Troubleshooting, maintenance technician, automation, robotics, repair, preventive maintenance, equipment maintenance, diagnostic testing, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Experience with conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, schematics, and motors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• 2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
• 2 years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment.
• 1 year of experience in metal and wood fabrication.
• 1 year of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
• Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and safety standards.
• Project Management experience.
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.
• Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.

Work Environment

Work in a large distribution facility equipped with high-speed automation and robotic components. Be prepared to walk approximately 10,000 steps per day. Performance is tracked by data and numbers, but without micromanagement. Shifts may last up to 10 hours, and applicants must be open to working any shift. The environment may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, varying temperatures, noise, and vibration.

This is a Contract position based out of Burlington, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $29.45/hr.
