Senior Accounting Manager, Real Estate Operations

We are seeking a hands-on, strategic accounting leader with direct experience in real estate/property accounting, who is comfortable operating in both a management and field-facing capacity. This individual will oversee accounting operations, lead a team, and work closely with the CFO to support financial strategy and property-level decision-making.

• Someone comfortable working both in-office and on-site, when needed at properties to support projects

Accounting Operations & Oversight

• Oversee and manage daily accounting functions across multiple real estate entities and properties
• Ensure integrity of financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting specific to real estate operations
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures across a multi-entity environment
• Partner directly with the CFO to support audits, compliance, and financial oversight

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff, ensuring strong performance and accountability
• Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency
• Serve as a key leader within the accounting department, aligning team with company goals

Financial Analysis & Budgeting

• Lead budgeting and forecasting across multiple properties and entities
• Analyze financial performance at both the entity and property level to identify trends and opportunities
• Monitor operating expenses and capital expenditures across properties
• Provide insights on renovations, repairs, and capital improvement projects
• Build and maintain advanced financial models to support real estate investment decisions

Tax & Compliance (Preferred)

• Support real estate-related tax filings and compliance requirements
• Coordinate with external accountants and tax professionals
• Apply knowledge of real estate tax structures and multi-entity ownership models

• Experience in real estate/property accounting (required)
• Demonstrated experience managing and leading an accounting team
• Strong understanding of property-level financials, multi-entity structures, and real estate operations
• Advanced proficiency with G-suite and Appfolio preferred
• Experience working with property operations and/or involvement in on-site projects strongly preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to operate independently while contributing at a leadership level
