Assistant OPRA Specialist

Job Title: Assistant OPRA Specialist Location: Newark, New Jersey Type: Contract (6 months, possibility for extension) Compensation: $23/hour Contractor Work Model: Hybrid Assistant OPRA Specialist OVERVIEW Assist with meeting OPRA request deadlines through information gathering, document review, research, and redaction tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES + Update OPRA calendar, Salesforce, and internal tracking systems for OPRA requests. + Assist staff in meeting deadlines by gathering information. + Perform initial document review and conduct research. + Redact text and prepare materials for OPRA responses. QUALIFICATIONS + Ability to work with laws, regulations, and policies governing public agencies. + Knowledge of legal terminology; ability to research and analyze statutes, regulations, and case law. + Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills. + Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, MS Teams, and Oracle.
