Fortegra is building a next-generation engineering capability focused on AI-accelerated development and rapid application delivery. We are seeking Full Stack Engineers who thrive in fast-moving environments and have deep experience designing, building, and deploying enterprise-grade applications.
The ideal candidate is a high-agency engineer with strong expertise in React-based front-end systems, modern backend frameworks, and secure public-facing application architecture, combined with hands-on experience using AI-driven development tools and agentic coding workflows. Domain experience in Insurance or Financial Services is a big plus.

What You’ll Do:
Build and Ship Production Applications:
- Architect and develop enterprise-grade full stack applications.
- Design and build high-quality React front-end systems.
- Develop scalable backend services using modern server-side frameworks.
- Deploy secure public-facing applications in production environments.
- Ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability of distributed systems.
AI-Accelerated Development:
- Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, CoPilot, Cursor, Replit, Lovable and similar environments to dramatically accelerate development cycles.
- Implement AI-driven development workflows including agentic coding, prompt-driven engineering, and automated code generation.
- Rapidly prototype and iterate on new product ideas.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging AI developer tools.
Rapid Prototyping and Product Development:
- Quickly build and validate new front-end applications and internal tools.
- Partner with business stakeholders to transform ideas into working software.
- Develop prototypes that evolve into production-ready enterprise systems.
- Help establish Fortegra’s modern AI-first engineering culture.
Security and Production Readiness:
- Design and implement secure architectures for public-facing applications.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and secure API design.
- Apply best practices in application security, cloud security, and compliance.
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive financial and customer data.

Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Significant experience designing and deploying enterprise-grade applications.
- Expert-level proficiency with React and modern front-end frameworks.
- Strong experience with at least one server-side framework such as:
- Node.js / NestJS / Express
- Python (FastAPI, Django)
- .NET Core
- Experience building and deploying secure public-facing applications
- Strong knowledge of API design, distributed systems, and cloud architectures.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as:
- Claude Code
- Cursor
- GitHub Copilot
- Replit
- Experience with AI-assisted or agentic development workflows.
- Strong ability to prototype quickly and iterate rapidly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Insurance or Financial Services domain experience.
- Experience building AI-enabled products or developer tooling.
- Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, and prompt engineering.
- Experience with serverless and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience deploying applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience building internal platforms or developer tooling.
- Startup or high-velocity product development experience.

Salary Range
$110,000 – $190,000 base salary, commensurate with experience.
