Our client, a distinguished financial technology and services organization, is seeking to fill an entry-level Corporate Actions Associate position. The Corporate Actions Associate will support the research, review, and processing of voluntary and mandatory corporate actions while developing knowledge of securities operations, data integrity standards, and the company's proprietary systems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist with researching voluntary and mandatory corporate action terms using internal systems, custodian notifications, and other approved sources.
- Support the preparation of client notifications for voluntary corporate actions and help track client responses and elections.
- Process routine voluntary corporate actions based on client elections under established procedures and supervisory guidance.
- Assist with setting up mandatory corporate action events and validating event details for accuracy.
- Review basic taxability and processing requirements with guidance to help ensure compliance with procedures.
- Help reconcile cash, shares, and activity between banking operations systems and custodians.
- Research and respond to routine client corporate actions inquiries, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
- Follow daily schedules and checklists to ensure assigned tasks are completed accurately and within established timelines.
- Maintain updates to the corporate actions tracking site and related internal records.
- Follow operating procedures in accordance with audit, risk, and compliance requirements.
- Escalate issues in accordance with department policies and maintain awareness of risk mitigation procedures.
- Assist with department projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Skills & Knowledge:
- BA/BS required. Degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, mathematics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in corporate actions, securities processing, banking, trust operations, financial services, or an internship/co-op in a related area.
- Foundational understanding of financial markets, securities processing, accounting, balancing, or banking concepts preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and willingness to learn complex operational processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; ability to learn proprietary systems and workflow tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to ask questions, document work, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Salary Range : $55,000 to $70,000
