Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Englewood Cliff, NJ. Candidate must have strong expertise in mobile test automation using Appium along with deep hands‑on skills in Java/Python frameworks to meet core technical qualifications for this role.

Rate Range: $41/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Executes mobile automation test suites using Appium for Android and iOS, ensuring coverage across real devices and emulators.

• Drives validation of UI/UX flows, media‑streaming scenarios, and critical user journeys such as login, subscription, and background/foreground behavior.

• Develops and maintains automation frameworks using Java/Python with TestNG, JUnit, PyTest, and BDD tools.

• Implements API testing using RestAssured or Python Requests to verify content, authentication, and user profile workflows.

• Oversees test execution strategies including smoke, regression, nightly, and parallel runs while ensuring accurate defect reporting.

• Collaborates closely within Agile/Scrum teams, contributes to CI/CD integration, and updates documentation using Jira/Xray, Zephyr, or TestRail.

Required Qualifications:

• Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical field.

• 5-7 Years of experience required.

• Strong proficiency in Appium-based automation for Android and iOS with Java/Python.

• Solid understanding of UX validation, media streaming testing, and execution of complex mobile test scenarios.

Pay Details: $41.00 to $45.00 per hour
