Job Description:

Client is seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to join our team in Richmond or McLean, VA. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cloud-based data engineering, with mandatory expertise in AWS Glue, Databricks, and Apache Spark.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS Glue, Databricks, and Apache Spark.
- Collaborate with data architects and analysts to implement data solutions that meet business requirements.
- Optimize and enhance data processing workflows to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
- Ensure data security and compliance with Capital One’s standards and industry best practices.

Mandatory Skills:
- AWS Glue: Proficiency in ETL processes and data integration in a cloud environment.
- Databricks: Experience with big data analytics and collaborative data engineering.
- Apache Spark: Deep understanding of distributed data processing and performance optimization.

Optional Skills:
- Python: Experience with scripting and automation in data engineering tasks.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in AWS data engineering.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in the financial services industry, especially with Capital One, is advantageous.
