AWS Software Engineer III - Kafka/Java

As an AWS Software Engineer III- Java/Kafka at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank- Global Banking, you will play a crucial role as part of an agile team focused on designing and implementing innovative technology products that prioritize security, stability, and scalability. Your responsibilities will include developing key technology solutions across a range of technical domains, aiding different business functions in achieving the firm's strategic objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Proven experience with programming languages and frameworks including Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Cloud
- Experience with events/event streaming and experience with Kafka for building real-time data pipelines and streaming applications
- Experience with AWS services and cloud deployment
- Experience with Aurora Postgres, Oracle or similar database development
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience working with modern front-end technologies such as React
