Maintenance Supervisor - Multifamily Property Management - Base Salary to 83k/year - Jersey City, NJ

• Our client, a leading full-service property management company, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations at a multifamily residential community in Jersey City, NJ.
• This individual will oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, lead a team of technicians, and ensure the property is maintained to high standards of safety, functionality, and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train, and support a team of maintenance technicians
• Assign, prioritize, and inspect completion of work orders and service requests
• Oversee apartment turns / make-ready process , ensuring timely unit readiness
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
• Ensure the overall condition, curb appeal, and functionality of buildings and grounds
• Manage preventive maintenance programs and track work order completion
• Coordinate on-call schedules to ensure 24/7 emergency maintenance coverage
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance supplies
• Work with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety standards
• Utilize property management / maintenance software systems to track work orders and maintenance activity
• Conduct routine inspections and safety meetings with maintenance staff

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of property maintenance experience within a multifamily residential environment
• Prior experience in a lead or supervisory maintenance role (e.g., Maintenance Supervisor, Lead Maintenance Technician)
• Hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Experience managing work orders, preventive maintenance, and apartment turns (make-readies)
• Ability to be on-call and work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to perform physical job duties including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs, and working in various positions (standing, bending, kneeling, etc.)

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 72k – 83k/year range
