Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Advisor to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health . South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor and delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services from primary and preventive care, to specialty services for children and adults, all designed to keep our community healthy. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Opportunity Details:

  • Serve as a key member of the Utilization Management team, leading efforts to meet the facility's goals to optimize level of care, length of stay, supporting documentation, regulatory compliance, hospital coding and denial management.
  • Serve as primary liaison for matters concerning provider practice patterns, over/under utilization of resources, medical necessity, level of care, care progression, length of stay management, denial management, compliance with governmental and private payer regulations, and physician documentation and coding requirements.
  • Report directly to the Chief Medical Officer for the facility.
  • The position will require at least 50% direct patient care in the medical specialty.

Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine
  • Active or Eligible for a NYS license
  • At least 3 years' experience practicing as an Attending Physician
  • Possess a solid foundation, knowledge, and/or experience in utilization and quality management

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $241,000* - $290,063* based on 40-hour work week, medical specialty, and clinical setting. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $360,620** - $414,589** , which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
