Job Summary

Trinitas Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) . In this leadership role, you will provide expert clinical care to post-operative patients while coordinating unit operations during your designated shift. As the Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will serve as a resource for staff, promote high-quality patient care, and support a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on exceptional clinical outcomes.

Monday – Friday | Flex Shift | 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

What You'll Do

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures.
  • Perform advanced clinical assessments, monitor patients' recovery, and intervene promptly to prevent complications.
  • Assess and manage airway, ventilation, circulation, pain, nausea, and post-operative recovery.
  • Monitor vital signs and operate specialized post-anesthesia monitoring equipment.
  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to support efficient patient throughput.
  • Educate patients and families on post-operative recovery and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Serve as the Clinical Nurse Coordinator during assigned shifts by providing clinical oversight, staff support, and operational leadership.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, productivity management, inventory oversight, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor nursing staff while promoting professional development, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current New Jersey Registered Nurse License
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU nursing experience
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 3 months of hire
  • Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) within 1 year of hire

Preferred

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current CPAN Certification
