Job Summary: Electromechanic

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electromechanic to join our food production facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems on food processing equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on food processing machinery, packaging equipment, conveyors, and automated systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues including motors, sensors, PLCs, and control panels.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems involving gearboxes, belts, bearings, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Ensure all equipment complies with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and support production during critical operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and automation controls.
• Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and other food safety standards.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Elizabeth, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
