Overview

Join a leading integrated petrochemical manufacturing facility as an Electrical Engineer Power Systems . Based in Paulsboro, NJ , youll be a critical member of the Equipment & Reliability Engineering Department , overseeing the specification, design, and maintenance of electrical equipment across the plant. This is a high-impact, growth-oriented role ideal for professionals experienced in medium- to high-voltage systems who are looking to deepen their expertise in a complex industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support for low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems across the refinery.

• Lead the troubleshooting, maintenance, and reliability strategy for all plant electrical equipment.

• Develop and maintain electrical equipment specifications and reliability improvement plans.

• Manage switchgear, relay upgrades, MCC installations, UPS systems , and substation battery systems .

• Drive root cause analysis for electrical failures and recommend corrective actions.

• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and project teams on design, construction, and start-up activities.

• Stay current with and apply industry codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, IEEE, API ).

• Support electrical classifications in hazardous environments and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

• Assist with project estimation, scheduling, and management using tools like MS Project and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering required.

• 3+ years of industrial Electrical Power Systems experience preferred.

• Direct experience in refining, petrochemical, or industrial plant environments is highly desirable.

• Proficient in motors, starters, transformers, breakers, relays , and switchgear systems .

• Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, SKM, and SEL Quickset .

• Experience with electrical systems up to 13.8kV is required.
  Experience with 69kV or 138kV high-voltage substations is a plus.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage across multidisciplinary teams.

• Awareness of safety and environmental protocols in chemical and refining operations.
