Job Details:

Mechanical Designer – $80,000 to $100,000 + Great Benefits

Onsite | Somerset County New Jersey

Design heavy, complex machinery and large engineered-to-order systems for power generation and industrial operations. Produce detailed 2D and 3D layouts for fabricated steel structures, welded assemblies, heavy weldments, pressure vessels, ducting, piping, cooling units, and power-plant equipment. Support full-cycle design of machinery incorporating motors, compressors, high-load structural components, and large mechanical assemblies built for demanding industrial environments.

Required Skills:
• Permanent U.S. residency (Green Card) or citizenship.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design experience with industrial systems or power-plant equipment.
• AutoCAD proficiency and 3D modeling experience with Tekla or MicroStation.
• Strong understanding of structural steel, pressure vessels, weld design, and heavy fabricated assemblies.
• Ability to manage complex assemblies, large welded structures, and advanced geometric modeling.
• Strong organizational discipline with the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop layouts for ducting, piping, heavy welded assemblies, and large mechanical equipment.
• Produce fabrication and assembly documents for steel structures, weldments, compressors, motors, cooling units, and pressure vessels.
• Translate project criteria into build-ready documents aligned with industrial manufacturing requirements.
• Apply AISC, ASME Section VIII, B31.1, and B31.3 standards.
• Prepare BOMs and control drawing revisions through formal review processes.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, and fabrication teams to resolve technical issues.
• Assess constructability and recommend design adjustments to improve manufacturability.
• Support engineered-to-order machinery and power-plant equipment requiring tight integration between design and production.
