Your Role as a Behavior Technician
As a Behavior Technician at Owen Health Care in Newark, NJ, you will play a vital role in assisting behavioral therapists in creating effective therapy programs for children and adolescents. Your responsibilities will include implementing behavioral interventions in home and community settings, tailoring service plans to meet each child's unique needs, and managing youth with behavioral challenges. By maintaining a safe environment, monitoring behavior, and organizing engaging activities, you will contribute to the well-being and development of the youth under your care. Your dedication to positive behavioral guidance will make a meaningful difference in their lives. Owen Health Care Inc. also offers the 40 hour RBT online training course as part of our training program for Behavior Technicians.
What We're Looking for in a Behavior Technician
To excel in the role of Behavior Technician at Owen Health Care, you should have a passion to work with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will work under the supervision of a BCBA. Successful BT's are adaptable in navigating different situations and adjusting strategies to best support children with behavioral challenges. An enjoyment of working with kids is crucial in building positive relationships and creating a nurturing environment. As a problem solver, you will need to think critically and creatively to address behavioral issues and promote positive outcomes. These skills will enable you to thrive in this dynamic and rewarding position, making a real difference in the lives of the youth you support.
