Job Summary
ND Global Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist / PT for a travel healthcare assignment in New Jersey.
The Physical Therapist will provide patient evaluation, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, patient and family education, documentation, and care coordination in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an acute care environment and be able to provide high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with clinical teams.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and assess functional status, mobility, strength, balance, range of motion, and rehabilitation needs.
- Establish individualized plans of care and treatment programs based on patient condition, physician orders, and clinical goals.
- Provide skilled physical therapy interventions to improve mobility, restore function, reduce pain, and support recovery.
- Educate patients and families on therapy goals, safety precautions, home exercise programs, mobility techniques, and discharge planning.
- Document evaluations, treatments, progress notes, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
- Complete billing and required documentation in accordance with facility, regulatory, and assignment requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation staff, case managers, patients, and families to support continuity of care.
- Exercise independent clinical judgment when managing moderately complex patient cases.
- Participate in clinical team communication, orientation support, and competency development as needed.
- Support lead clinicians and contribute to safe, effective patient care delivery.
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, infection-control procedures, patient safety standards, and NDGCS requirements.
Requirements
- Current New Jersey license to practice Physical Therapy.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy academic program.
- 0–4 years of experience as a Physical Therapist preferred.
- Ability to evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and provide skilled therapy interventions.
- Strong documentation, communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must meet all onboarding, credentialing, background check, and compliance requirements before assignment.
Preferred Experience
- Acute care experience in a large hospital or academic medical setting.
- Prior travel healthcare or contract assignment experience.
- Board certification as a specialist in an area suitable for acute care practice is preferred.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary care teams.
- Experience supporting patient mobility, discharge planning, rehabilitation goals, and functional recovery.
Work Environment
This role may be based in a hospital, acute care facility, rehabilitation setting, or other assigned clinical environment. The Physical Therapist must be comfortable working with patients who have varying levels of mobility, medical complexity, and rehabilitation needs.
