Job Title: Patient Care Technician (PCT)

Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601

Duration: 13-Week Contract

Schedule: Evening Shift: 3:15 PM – 11:45 PM (5x8s); Every other weekend; Holidays required; No On-Call

Job Summary:

• Assist registered nurses in delivering patient care in a fast-paced Med-Surg environment
• Provide direct patient care, perform clinical tasks, and support overall unit operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and daily weights
• Perform phlebotomy, glucose checks, and specimen collection with proper techniques
• Conduct EKGs as directed
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, toileting, mobility)
• Prepare patients for exams, admissions, and procedures
• Assist with patient transport and meal support

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of the Patient Care Technician program
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCT experience in an acute care setting
• Phlebotomy certification (required)
• EKG certification (required)
• BLS (AHA) certification

Work Environment:

• Med-Surg unit with high patient volume
• Float as needed within the department
• Must be flexible with schedule, including weekends and holidays
