Estimating & Operations Assistant

McCloskey Mechanical Contractors is hiring an Estimating & Operations Assistant to support our public bid estimating team and executive operations function. This is an in-office, developmental role ideal for someone early in their career who is highly organized, strong in Excel, and eager to learn how estimating, data, and executive decision-making work together in a real operating business.

This position works closely with a Senior Estimator on public bid submissions and directly with the Chief Operating Officer on data analysis, reporting, and internal tools.

What You’ll Do

Public Bid & Estimating Support

• Assist a Senior Estimator with preparation and submission of public bids
  
• Organize bid documents, forms, and submission packages
  
• Manage bid calendars and track deadlines across multiple bids
  
• Support daily bid turnaround with accuracy and attention to detail
  
• Track bid results and maintain historical bid data
  
• Help improve estimating processes, templates, and tracking tools
  

Operations & Data Support

• Support the COO with Excel-based data cleanup, analysis, and reporting
  
• Build and maintain spreadsheets, trackers, and internal tools
  
• Assist with leadership data requests and operational analysis
  
• Help translate raw data into clear, usable summaries
  
• Support internal process documentation and improvement projects

Required Qualifications

• Strong Excel skills (formulas, filters, sorting, data cleanup)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
  
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment
  

Preferred (Not Required)

• Exposure to construction, estimating, or bidding environments
  
• Familiarity with public sector documentation
  
• Experience supporting operations, finance, or leadership teams
