Our Team, Your Impact

Role summary: The Associate Director, EHS&S Regulatory Compliance & Implementation, is responsible for monitoring Global (with operational responsibility for the U.S.) EHS&S regulatory requirements, assessing their impact on the company, and leading the implementation of actions necessary to maintain compliance across assigned regions, sites, or business units.

This role serves as a bridge between regulatory requirements and operational execution, ensuring that changes in laws, permits, and standards are translated into practical, risk based actions that are implemented, verified, and sustained within the company’s EHS&S Management System.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Monitoring & Interpretation
• Monitor applicable EHS&S laws, regulations, permits, and external standards
• Identify new or changing regulatory requirements and assess their applicability
• Interpret regulatory language and translate requirements into clear, actionable expectations

U.S. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
• Oversee U.S. EHS&S regulatory compliance within the designated scope, including maintaining awareness of relevant federal and state regulations, permits, and external standards.
• Assess risks from U.S. regulatory changes and reporting requirements, utilizing a risk-based approach
• Coordinate regulatory reporting to ensure submissions are timely, accurate, thoroughly documented, and in accordance with internal governance and Legal expectations.
• Ensures data integrity and traceability in support of U.S. regulatory filings, and sustains readiness to respond to regulatory inspections, audits, or information requests.
• Escalates significant compliance risks or reporting issues through governance protocols.

Impact Assessment & Risk Evaluation
• Assess operational, technical, and business impact of regulatory changes
• Identify and document regulatory risks within governance processes.

Compliance Implementation & Execution
• Lead or support the development of implementation plans for regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with site EHS teams, operations, engineering, legal, and other stakeholders to drive timely and effective implementation.
• Ensure regulatory requirements are embedded into procedures, permits, training, management system elements, and operational controls as appropriate.
• Track progress and verify closure and effectiveness of compliance actions and CAPAs.

Management Systems, Audits & Assurance
• Support the development and maintenance of regulatory registers, compliance calendars, and compliance tracking tools.
• Contribute to audit readiness, including preparation for internal audits, regulatory inspections, and external assessments.
• Support the investigation and remediation of regulatory non conformances, notices of violation, or inspection findings.
• Verify sustained compliance through follow up, data review, and field engagement.

Continuous Improvement & Capability Building
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and strengthen regulatory compliance processes.
• Support training and knowledge transfer to ensure site and functional teams understand regulatory obligations and implementation expectations.
• Share lessons learned and best practices across sites or regions to improve consistency and execution quality.

Your Skills and Experience

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferably in Environmental Science, Engineering, EHS or a related discipline.
  • Advanced degree preferred

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience of progressive EHS&S experience with demonstrated exposure to:
    • Regulatory compliance
    • Site or multi-site operational environments
    • Implementation of regulatory or standards driven change
  • Experience working within a structured EHS&S Management System environment.
  • Prior experience supporting or leading audits, inspections and CAPA management
  • Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Paralegal experience preferred.

Salary Range

The annual starting salary for this position is between $150,000 - $188,700 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
