Buyer/Demand Planner

This individual is responsible for forecasting product demand, managing inventory levels, and executing purchasing activities to ensure the right products are available at the right time and cost. This role balances data-driven planning with hands-on buying to support sales, operations, and customer demand.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Demand Planning & Forecasting

• Analyze historical sales, trends, and seasonal patterns to forecast demand
• Develop replenishment plans to maintain optimal inventory levels
• Collaborate with sales and operations to adjust forecasts based on promotions, trends, and customer needs

Buying & Purchasing

• Place purchase orders with domestic and international suppliers
• Manage reorder points, lead times, and minimum order quantities
• Track purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery

Inventory Management

• Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock
• Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives
• Recommend adjustments to product mix based on performance

Vendor Coordination

• Communicate regularly with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and production schedules
• Support negotiations and cost reviews as needed
• Resolve supplier issues related to delays, shortages, or quality

Reporting & Systems

Reporting & Systems

• Maintain accurate purchasing and demand data in ERP or inventory systems
• Generate inventory and forecasting reports
• Support continuous improvement in planning processes

Qualifications/Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in buying and inventory management
• Must have experience with ERP or inventory planning systems, Netstock strongly preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to gather and analyze data

• Proficiency in excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized and proactive
