Scientist, Machine Learning , Closed- Loop and Discovery



Overview


We seek an enthusiastic and collaborative machine learning scientist with a focus on AI/ML methods to join our Cheminformatics S mall Molecul e Drug Discovery team. In this role , you will contribute to a thoughtful, exciting, and cross-functional group apply ing AI to drive the development of groundbreaking therapies across multiple moda lities, including targeted protein degraders . This role focuses on developing cu tting-edge t echniques to automate and analyze machine learning models for seamless e xecuti on on closed loop sys tem s to o rig inate novel therapeutics for our pipeline .


You will work as a valued member on a multidisciplinary team that is committed to leveraging predictive methods to optimize synthesis and screening of promising drug candidates. Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply deep learning and optimization methods to to automate the design-make-test (DMT) cycle
  • Establish workflows to accelerate hit discovery through active learning -guided synthesis and screening
  • Integrate and implement approaches t hat enable closed-loop discovery cycles in c ollaborat ion with biologists, chemists, and modelers
  • Contribute to the principled exploration of novel therapeutic modalities and their application to research portfolio
  • Effectively c ommunicate methods, results, and recommendations in multiple settings such as team and project meetings , seminars , academic conference, and journal publications
  • Educate and mentor scientists across the organization on AI/ML methods
Required Education
  • Ph.D. OR Ma ster's Degree w ith 3+ years of academic / industry experience, OR Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of academic / industry experience .
Background experience & complementary knowledge
  • Ph.D. OR Master's Degree with 3+ years of academic / industry experience in the field of informatics and machine learning
  • Strong experience with modern deep learning methods; preferably with demonstrated application of models in the areas of active learning , synthesis planning, or generative methods
  • Expertise in scientific programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and machine learning libraries ( e.g., PyTorch , Tensorflow )
  • Proficiency in chemistry toolkits ( eg : rdkit , OEChem , S chrodinger)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based computing and Linux HPC environments
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with a diverse set of colleagues to develop implementations and apply machine learning techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation Overview:


Princeton - NJ - US: $122,740 - $148,732


The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

On-site Protocol
