Yard Attendant

Staff Management Group is seeking a Yard Attendant for our client in Linden, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule:

• 1st Shift: 9AM - 5:30PM
• Plus Overtime

Pay Rate:

• $18 / Hour

Job Summary:

The Yard Attendant is responsible for working in the yard, communicating with the truck drivers that are coming in, guiding and ensuring organized shipping and receiving truckers are transitioning in a safe and organized way.

Job Responsibilities:

• Direct and communicate with inbound and outbound truck drivers to ensure smooth yard operations.
• Guide trucks safely into designated loading and unloading areas.
• Coordinate with shipping and receiving teams to maintain organized truck flow.
• Monitor yard activity to prevent congestion and ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain clear and accurate communication with warehouse and logistics personnel.
• Assist in tracking trailer movements and yard inventory as needed.
• Ensure the yard remains clean, organized, and free of hazards.

Job Requirements:

• MUST be bilingual - English and Spanish
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with drivers and internal teams.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Understanding of shipping, receiving, and truck flow operations.
• Safety-minded with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and direct vehicle movement.
• Previous experience in a yard, logistics, or warehouse environment preferred.
