Job Summary:
The Lead Childcare associate is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the Katz JCC Childcare (Babysitting) Program. This role ensures a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children, while also assisting the Fitness and Wellness Director in overseeing administrative tasks, including staff scheduling, room cleanliness, and customer service. The position requires strong leadership. communication, and organizational skills, as well as a hands-on approach to childcare and facility management.
Hours: M - Th 7:45AM - 12:30PM; M - Th 4:45PM - 8:30PM; Sat/Sun 7:45AM - 12:00PM
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a clean, welcoming, and age-appropriate environment for children in the JCC Babysitting Facility.
- Provide enriching play activities for children in the JCC Babysitting facility.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including staff schedules, facility usage, and equipment maintenance.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to ensure high levels of satisfaction and engagement.
- Develop and manage weekly staff schedules for all Childcare personnel.
- Provide coverage in the event of staff absences or an alternative solution.
- Oversee registration processes and ensure accurate collection of fees for childcare services.
- Order, maintain, and safely store all supplies and equipment used in childcare facilities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Fitness and Wellness to prepare annual budgets, departmental goals, and objectives.
- Support administrative duties related to the childcare/babysitting room and other associated services.
- Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure all childcare areas and equipment are clean, safe, and operational. Promptly report safety hazards or equipment issues.
- Assist in promoting the Fitness and Wellness Department and encourage integration with other JCC departments to enhance overall agency operations.
- Represent the Katz JCC professionally and maintain positive relationships with members and the community to support agency-wide initiatives and inter-agency programs.
- Actively participate in agency-wide events and initiatives, staying informed about JCC programs to provide accurate and helpful information.
- Perform additional duties as needed based on departmental priorities
Required Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a childcare setting
- B.A in Early Childhood preferred
- Current CPR, First Aid and AED (including infant and child) certification required
- CRM Knowledge
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
