Seasonal Visitor Counselor/Hospitality (Through Labor Day)

**Temporary Position: Seasonal Visitor Welcome Counselor**

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Seasonal Visitor Welcome Counselor to join our team! In this role, you will provide valuable assistance to tourists by offering recommendations on food, beverages, entertainment, and lodging. This position runs from May to September and is perfect for those who enjoy engaging with people and sharing their knowledge of the local area.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. Deliver exceptional customer service at the Visitor Welcome Center, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.


2. Assist customers in finding room reservations by making phone calls and conducting online searches, as well as facilitating merchandise sales.

3. Manage the labeling, storage, and sale of merchandise, ensuring a smooth shopping experience for our guests.

4. Request, unpack, and properly display promotional materials and brochures to keep our center informative and inviting.

5. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the reception and public areas to create a pleasant environment for visitors.

6. Address visitor inquiries with a friendly demeanor, providing helpful and accurate information.

7. Stay informed about local events and attractions in the Atlantic City and Cape May County regions through newspapers and other publications. Help restock brochure racks when inventory is low.

8. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the team and enhance the visitor experience.

**Qualifications and Requirements:**

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with the Internet.
- A cheerful disposition and a passion for engaging with people.
- Knowledge of the tourism industry in the Atlantic City and Cape May County region is a plus.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance to operate NJ Lottery equipment at the designated site.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- A friendly approach to handling inquiries and the ability to make logical, decisive decisions.
- Advanced knowledge of visitor information services and the tourism/hospitality industry is preferred.
