Consigliere Wine Bar is a wine-driven space rooted in culture, sound, and discovery. Located in downtown Newark, we offer a thoughtfully curated selection of low-intervention, classic, and emerging wines from around the world. Our space is built on conversation, education, and hospitality—introducing guests to new producers, regions, and styles in a welcoming, unpretentious environment.

Position Overview:
We are seeking wine-focused servers who are passionate about hospitality and eager to deepen their knowledge of wine. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys guiding guests through thoughtful wine selections, creating memorable experiences, and being part of a culture-driven environment.

A genuine interest in wine is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Wine Service & Guest Guidance
• Confidently present and discuss our wine list with guests
• Make thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences
• Educate guests in an approachable and engaging way
• Properly serve wine, including opening bottles and maintaining presentation standards

Guest Experience & Hospitality
• Provide attentive, professional, and welcoming service
• Build rapport with guests and help create a warm, community-driven atmosphere
• Ensure guests feel comfortable exploring new wines and returning regularly

Floor Service & Operations
• Take accurate orders and deliver food and beverages efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables and service areas
• Complete opening, closing, and side work responsibilities

Team Collaboration
• Work closely with bartenders and team members to ensure smooth service
• Communicate clearly and contribute to a positive team environment

Wine Education & Development
• Participate in regular staff tastings and trainings
• Continuously build knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and producers
• Grow into a knowledgeable ambassador of Consigliere’s wine program

Qualifications:
• 1–3 years of serving experience, preferably in a wine bar, restaurant, or hospitality environment
• Interest in wine and eagerness to learn
• Strong communication and guest engagement skills
• Professional, reliable, and team-oriented
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• TIPS certification (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred but Not Required:
• Prior wine bar or restaurant experience
• Familiarity with natural, organic, or low-intervention wines
• Wine education (WSET, CMS, or similar)
• Interest in music, culture, and hospitality-driven environments
