Housekeeper (Full-Time, Live-Out)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Saturday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (hours can be redistributed to weekdays if preferred)

Compensation: $30–$35 per hour (on the books)

Start Date: April 15, 2026

A warm and private family in Montclair, NJ is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Full-Time Housekeeper to support the daily upkeep and organization of their home. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys maintaining a clean and orderly environment, and can work quietly and efficiently within a family setting.

The ideal candidate is proactive yet respectful of boundaries, able to follow direction while working independently, and comfortable adapting to the natural rhythm of a household. There are two dogs in the home.

Main Work Duties:

Housekeeping & Home Care:

• Perform detailed daily cleaning, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and general upkeep
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and all common areas
• Change bed linens and ensure all spaces remain neat, tidy, and guest-ready
• Organize closets, drawers, cabinets, and storage areas to maintain order and functionality
• Maintain overall household organization, ensuring items are returned to their proper place
• Monitor and restock household supplies, including cleaning products and paper goods
• Perform periodic deep cleaning (baseboards, interior cabinets, appliances, etc.)

Laundry & Garment Care:

• Wash, dry, fold, and organize laundry
• Handle stain treatment, ironing, and steaming as needed
• Maintain organization of closets and wardrobes

Household Support:

• Assist with light food preparation (washing and chopping vegetables)
• Complete grocery shopping and basic household errands
• During warmer months, clean and maintain porch areas and outdoor grill

• Able to work quietly and efficiently in a private home environment
• Comfortable following direction while also working independently
• Adaptable and able to adjust to the household’s daily flow (e.g., working around a child’s schedule)
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Naturally proactive—able to identify tasks and stay productive during downtime
• Respectful, discreet, and professional at all times
• Must be vaccinated

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ solid years of housekeeping experience in a private home.
• Excellent references from both current and previous employers.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must speak and be able to communicate well in English.
• Authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
