Lab Technician

Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Bridgewater, NJ

Hours/Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

Compensation: $25-35/hr

Type: Contract

Overview

This role supports laboratory research and product development by performing polymer formulation, adhesive testing, data collection, and sample preparation under the guidance of senior staff. The technician will follow established experimental procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and handle chemicals safely. This position requires strong attention to detail and comfort working in a hands-on lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and synthesize polymers following established procedures.

• Prepare and test adhesive materials and coated samples.

• Evaluate, collect, and record experimental data in a laboratory notebook.

• Summarize results and enter data into computer systems, including charts and tables.

• Assist in organizing and performing experiments under senior supervision.

• Operate laboratory coating equipment and test performance characteristics of coated substrates.

• Work safely with chemicals and follow laboratory safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of laboratory experience.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to understand and follow experimental protocols and record detailed data.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to work safely with chemicals.

• Ability to stand for extended periods during laboratory work.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
