Housekeeper

Private Family in North Caldwell, NJ, seeking a Live-In Housekeeper- frequent travel to Florida.

*A car and driving are required for the position.*


Position: Full-Time Live-In Housekeeper Schedule: Monday- Friday, 40 hours/week. 8:30 am- clean up after dinner

The schedule can be broken up with many breaks during the day and significant downtime.

Salary: $30-$35/hour depending on experience Benefits: 2 weeks PTO Start Date: ASAP

About the Family: We are a quiet, respectful two-person household seeking a full-time, live-in housekeeper to help maintain our home. The ideal candidate is pleasant, kind, honest, and takes initiative without needing daily direction. 

Responsibilities include daily cleaning, cooking, laundry, and ironing for two people, and changing bed linens about once a week. We’re looking for someone hardworking, detail-oriented, and able to manage tasks independently. The typical day starts around 8:30 AM, with flexibility throughout the day and the ability to take breaks as needed. We ask for help cleaning up after dinner most evenings and cooking dinner a couple of times to a few times a week. Flexibility is important, as some days may require different tasks depending on what’s needed. This is a live-in position, and a private room will be provided. We value trust, reliability, and a strong work ethic, and hope to find someone who takes pride in their work and will treat our home with care. *They frequent Palm Beach, Florida. You would have living arrangements there as well. They go down for 6 months (December- April) 

The housekeeper would travel with them and have a private room. In NJ, you have an entire floor of the home to yourself, including a kitchen area.*


Home Size: 5,000 sq of usable living space
Pets: one Maltipoo
Household Staff: 1 day a week Housekeeper comes in to help with any needs

Primary Responsibilities:
Daily housekeeping and general home upkeep
Laundry and ironing (for two people)
Changing bed linens weekly
Cooking dinner a couple of times to a few times per week
Assisting with dinner cleanup most evenings
Light meal prep or support with cooking as needed
Keeping household areas organized and tidy
Flexibility to adjust the routine based on daily needs

Requirements
Prior experience in a similar role in a private household
Excellent references
Legal to work in the United States
Driver’s license and clean driving record- A car is required
Comfortable with dogs
Willing to travel
