Position Summary

Applied Landscape Technologies, a TenCate company, delivers athletic fields that communities rely on, including K-12 schools, collegiate facilities, and municipal parks and recreation spaces.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our growing construction team in Morris Plains, New Jersey. This role supports the estimating department in preparing competitive bids by reviewing plans, performing quantity take-offs, coordinating subcontractor pricing, and assisting in overall bid development.

This is a full-time, in-office position (Monday–Friday) and an excellent opportunity for someone early in their construction career who is looking to build long-term expertise in estimating and preconstruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to understand scope requirements
• Perform material and quantity take-offs from construction plans
• Solicit and track proposals from subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist in analyzing and leveling subcontractor bids
• Enter and organize quantities and pricing in HCSS HeavyBid
• Support the preparation and assembly of bid packages
• Coordinate with sales teams, project managers, and vendors to clarify scope and pricing
• Maintain organized bid documentation and files
• Assist with bid submissions and public bid openings

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of construction industry experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contract documents strongly preferred
• Experience in civil or sports construction is a plus
• Experience with HCSS HeavyBid or Salesforce preferred but not required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow within the organization

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment and requires frequent collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
