Human Resources Generalist (Administrative Support)

The HR Generalist (Administrative Support) plays a dual role, serving as the primary point of contact for employees and visitors while supporting the Human Resources department across a range of administrative and generalist functions. This role requires strong organizational skills, a customer-service orientation, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and foundational HR knowledge.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
  • Coordinate onboarding by preparing new hire paperwork, conducting orientations including benefits and policy overviews, and setting up personnel files both physically and in HRIS systems.
  • Provide support for recruitment including posting job openings to internal and external job boards, scheduling interviews, conducting phone screenings, and supporting background and reference checks.
  • Create and maintain personnel records in compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
  • Provide HR administrative support by scheduling employee meetings and compiling reports and HR metrics using Excel.
  • Respond to and redirect employee questions about benefits, policies, and general office concerns.
  • Support basic compliance by verifying employment eligibility (I-9) and assisting with audits and policy-related tasks.
  • Assist with administrative payroll tasks such as collecting and entering timesheet data.
  • Serve as the primary office liaison with external services and vendors.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, preparing documents, responding to emails, filing, and data entry tasks.
  • Greet and direct visitors and guests to the appropriate departments.
  • Process employment verifications and support employee status changes as needed.
  • Perform other administrative and HR-related duties as assigned.


IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in an administrative, receptionist, or HR assistant role preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS applications - Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and handle confidential matters.
  • Bilingual – Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is preferred.
