Sanitation Technician

General Laborer - Sanitation

Location: Moonachie, NJ 07074
Starting Pay: $18.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks in accordance with the plant’s Master Cleaning Schedule.
• Disassemble and set up production equipment for cleaning using COP (Clean-Out-of-Place) and CIP (Clean-In-Place) procedures, where applicable.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work area following GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and all safety guidelines.
• Handle and properly use cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies.
• Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organized at all times.
• Report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or deviations from standard processes to supervisors.
• Follow all client and company policies, including attendance and punctuality expectations.

Qualifications

• Basic communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in sanitation, janitorial, or general labor roles preferred but not required.
• Must be comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and in environments with varying temperatures.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Essential Functions

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position and stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Frequently moves, traverses, and positions self to perform cleaning tasks, including climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, and bending.
• Ability to move, transport, and position up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to detect and identify cleaning needs and communicate effectively with team members.

Work Environment

• Frequently works indoors in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
• May be exposed to wet conditions, cleaning solvents, and hazardous chemicals.
• Environments may range from -30°F (freezer areas) to 105°F (production zones).
• Occasionally exposed to loud noise levels and must wear protective gear such as gloves, goggles, and masks.
• Regularly works near others and often shares the same workspace.

Schedule

• Full-time, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
• Overtime may be available based on operational needs.
