Salary: $22 per hour

Woods Machinery is hiring an Entry-Level Equipment Helper / Yard Coordinator for our heavy machinery dealership. Youll handle loading/unloading, accurate receiving, yard and shop organization/cleanliness, and assist customers during equipment deliveries and pickups. Youll also support day to day operations including equipment photo inspections, cleaning, and basic servicing. This is an excellent entry point to begin a career in heavy equipment service, repair, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving & Shipping
  • Unload shipments of whole goods and parts; stage all items in assigned locations.
  • Reconcile packing slips/BOLs; provide paperwork to the Branch Manager for receiving.
  • Assist with loading outgoing orders onto customer trailers or LTL trucks.
  • Monitor internal transfers to verify correct whole goods/parts are being transported.

• Yard Presentation & Inventory
  • Display new equipment neatly for sales; rotate front displays as needed and secure machines.
  • Assist the Branch Manager with bi-weekly whole-goods audits.
    
• Machine Prep & Basic Service
  • Assist Service/Parts/Rental with machine prep for sale and rental (power wash, cab clean, inbound/outbound inspections).
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks: check fluid levels, tire pressures, and battery condition; complete routine items such as oil/filter changes, fluid checks, and inspections.
    
• Housekeeping
  • Maintain general cleanliness and organization of the yard and service areas
• Other
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support daily dealership operations.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Not Required)

• Up to 2 years experience with earthmoving equipment (excavators, loaders, attachments).
• Familiarity with proper loading/securing methods for loaders and excavators.
• Equipment rental experience.
• Knowledge of shipping/receiving, BOLs, and OS&D documentation.
• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• Strong verbal/written communication, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
• Computer literate; comfortable with basic PC applications and inventory/receiving systems.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Forklift certified preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Able to pass background and drug screening.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Familiarity with service tools, shop safety, and basics of diesel/gas engines and hydraulics.
