Medical Assistant (Rahway, NJ)
- Medical Assistant position in a dynamic employee health clinic. -The position is in person, during core business hours, Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility to meet business needs.- Position reports to Director Global Employee Health, collaborates with multidisciplinary team including -Medical Assistant, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Physicians.
- Administer medical surveillance programs: reviewing questionnaires, administering vaccinations, testing vision, performing audiometry and spirometry, monitoring compliance.
- Collect laboratory specimens, perform venipuncture and non-DOT drug and alcohol tests.
- Assist with care of occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries including medical emergencies, at the direction of the RN and NP.
- Administrative duties: answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, equipment calibration, managing supplies, electronic medical record documentation.
- Wellness activities including flu vaccination clinics and other company sponsored events.
- Must have a HS Diploma or GED
- A certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience in a medical office or hospital. Occupational Health experience desired.
- BLS certification required.-
- Certification as CCMA, CMA or RMA preferred.
