Sr. Specialist, Data Center Engineering
- Support design and delivery of Technology Spaces for new builds, renovations, consolidations, relocations, migrations, and decommissions.
- Maintain active and direct interaction with customers and stakeholders to gather and understand site business requirements and provide feedback into our company's Global Data Center strategic initiatives.
- Provide engineering services to meet business needs based on a holistic understanding of Technology Space Operations (Facilities, Servers, SAN, NAS, Network, DR practices and Private Cloud).
- Develop and provide subject matter expertise on: Technology Space design, capacity management, IT Equipment installation planning, cable plant design, and project delivery.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, internal work efficiencies, and cost reduction opportunities.
- Manage documentation, Standard Operation Procedures, and internal Standards for Technology Space products and services.
- Provide project management planning in the development of complex initiatives supporting enterprise programs.
- Maintain awareness of external industry developments and best practices to determine applicability to our company. Keep the team informed and incorporate appropriate methods, tools, and technologies in enhancing our products and services.
- Plan and coordinate activities with vendors to deliver Technology Space services and initiatives.
- Mentor and train other Technology Space staff on best practices, processes, and procedures.
- Use our DCIM tool Sunbird to document, design, and plan IT equipment installations for our Technology Spaces.
- 5+ years operating and supporting enterprise DC environments with 24x7x365 uptime requirements.
- 5+ years' experience designing and deploying Technology Spaces supporting servers, storage, and virtualization technologies across multiple vendors in a heterogeneous environment.
- High degree of initiative and dependability.
- Excellent technical written, diagramming, documenting, and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with information technology professionals as well as laypersons.
- Available to travel approximately 15% of the time.
- Good understanding of critical power chains (including UPS systems, ATS, backup generators, RPDU's), HVAC/CRAC systems, fire detection and protection, white space design, and other physical infrastructure associated with the hosting of mission-critical services.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
Preferred
- Data Center Certifications such as CDCDP, DCDC, CDCS/P/E or equivalent.
- Experience with DCIM, especially Sunbird.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Jira and Confluence.

$114,700.00 - $180,500.00 This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
