Job Overview:

Performs microscopic examination of gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides for abnormal cellular changes.

Qualifications:
Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 12 months training in an accredited school of cytology
• Certification by American Society of Clinical Pathology

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science degree
• One-year experience as a cytologist

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full-Time
• Day Shift

Essential Functions:

• Perform microscopic examination of gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides for abnormal cellular changes.
• Responsible for referring appropriate cases for hierarchical review.
• Maintains appropriate workload and quality assurance records.
• Performs all duties in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Performs additional tasks as requested by Chairman of Pathology or his/her designee.
