A well-established civil engineering and land surveying firm in North New Jersey is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations on a variety of land development, municipal, and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily field survey operations
- Perform boundary, topographic, construction, ALTA/NSPS, and as-built surveys
- Operate and maintain GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
- Interpret plans, deeds, plats, and control data
- Coordinate with office staff, engineers, and project managers
- Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with project requirements
- Train and mentor junior field staff as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief or Party Chief
- Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and field procedures
- Proficiency with GPS and robotic instrumentation
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and survey documents
- Valid driver’s license (NJ)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- NJ PLS license or path toward licensure is a plus
