North Shore Strategies is seeking motivated and reliable Political Petitioners to support a high-priority Democratic ballot access effort in Montclair and Bloomfield, New Jersey . This short-term project focuses on collecting valid petition signatures to help Democratic candidates qualify for the ballot.
Applicants must be registered Democrats residing in the state of New Jersey.

About the Role

As a Political Petitioner, you will be on the front lines of the ballot qualification process. You will engage directly with voters in Montclair and Bloomfield, verify eligibility, and collect accurate signatures in compliance with New Jersey election law. This role requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and a commitment to Democratic values.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collect legally valid petition signatures from registered Democratic voters.

• Verify voter eligibility and ensure accuracy of all petition fields.

• Clearly explain the purpose of the petition and the importance of ballot access for Democratic candidates.

• Maintain daily signature logs and submit completed petition sheets to the Field Director.

• Meet or exceed daily and weekly signature goals.

• Represent North Shore Strategies with professionalism and integrity in all public interactions.

• Attend required trainings to ensure compliance with petitioning rules and campaign messaging.

• Foster positive interactions with voters to support broader community engagement.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered Democrat in the state of New Jersey.

• Able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week between 11/22/2025 and 12/01/2025.

• Strong verbal communication skills and comfort engaging with the public.

• Reliable, punctual, and goal-oriented.

• Ability to work independently in outdoor settings for extended periods.

• Previous experience in canvassing, petitioning, community organizing, sales, or customer service is a plus but not required.

• Commitment to Democratic and progressive values.

• Capable of meeting deadlines and hitting signature targets.
