Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Job Description

The Laboratory Technician's primary responsibility is to provide support to laboratory staff in all areas of laboratory operations. The role requires adaptability as the needs of the laboratory and the technician's responsibilities may change on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and analyze samples after appropriate training, using instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Support the investigation and preparation of responses to client inquiries and corrective action requests (CARs).
• Input and maintain technical information as needed to support laboratory functions and operations.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience in extraction, titration, and pH measurement.
• Proficiency with 8260/8260 TCLP, 624, and Agilent GCMS.
• Ability to oversee multiple instruments and load multiple batches per day.
• Experience with Centurian Auto Samplers and EV2 concentrators.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and sample analysis.
• Background in environmental science.

• Experience in sciences (education, work-related, or a combination).
• Comfort with handling various acids, bases, and reagents with appropriate PPE.
• Concern for environmental issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint).
• Effective communication skills and ability to work under minimal guidance.
• Capability to multi-task with shifting priorities.
• Demonstrates utmost level of integrity and respect towards others.

The work is conducted in a Chemistry Lab focusing on extractions. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with a willingness to work a flexible schedule. Longer hours, evenings, and/or weekend work may be necessary as job duties demand.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
