- Read and understand blueprints and prepare detailed quantity take-offs.
- Provide full estimates on large work and all types of contracts.
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Track awarded contracts as required - may include estimating / pricing extra work items, change orders, credit, procuring materials, etc.
- Review and complete all preliminary documents for newly awarded jobs.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Liaison between the field and office.
- Monitor project progress and recommend adjustments to the schedule as needed.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office.
- Answering and redirecting phone calls as needed. Taking messages as needed.
- Ensure deadlines and cost targets are met.
- Complete all closeout documents as needed.
- Strong project management skills
- Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Capable of taking a project from receipt of documents to rough estimate ready for review.
- Ability to multitask and /or delegate if necessary.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
