Patient Care Technician I, Full Time, Gastroenterology, Morristown
Job Description
Responsible for assisting doctors/nursing staff in ensuring that the basic needs of each patient are met. Daily tasks might include things like scheduling office visits, rooming the Patient and doing vital signs.
Principal Accountabilities: 1. Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.2. Rooming and taking and recording vital signs.
3. Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
4. Monitors environment for compliance with continual accreditation readiness and evaluates practice schedule for changes or updates.
5. Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
6. Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
1. HS Diploma or equivalent
2. BLS
1. Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
2. Patient, compassionate nature
3. Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses
4. Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems
