About the Role
We are seeking an Operator Technician to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As an Operator Technician, you will ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production by operating and monitoring high‑speed bakery equipment, optimizing automated processes, and maintaining product quality throughout every stage of manufacturing.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 1st
- Hours: 6AM - 2:30PM
- Weekend availability: Required
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $30 - $33
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Operate and monitor bakery production equipment to ensure consistent product quality
- Control and adjust key process parameters to maintain efficiency and reduce waste
- Troubleshoot automation, mechanical, and electrical issues to minimize downtime
- Execute start‑up, changeover, and shutdown procedures for manual and automated systems
- Maintain compliance with all food‑safety, quality, and workplace‑safety standards
- Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and automation teams to ensure seamless operations
- Train new operators and technicians on equipment operation and safety best practices
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in high‑speed food manufacturing, industrial processing, or automated machine operation
- Ability to read and follow production specifications and process documentation
- Hands‑on experience with automation systems, robotics, or HMI interfaces
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic troubleshooting
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to perform physical tasks safely (standing, lifting, operating machinery, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Prior bakery manufacturing experience
- Technical or vocational training in automation, mechatronics, or industrial technology
- Experience with PLC‑controlled systems or automated ingredient‑delivery systems
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives
