Professional Land Surveying- Civil Engineering- Land Development
Our client in the local area is actively seeking to add an experienced Land Surveyor Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of surveying projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) working toward licensure, with strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and client communication abilities.
The Project Manager will lead survey teams, manage project budgets and schedules, coordinate field and office operations, and ensure all deliverables meet professional standards and client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple land surveying projects including boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys.
- Prepare project proposals, budgets, scopes, and schedules.
- Supervise field and office personnel to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with quality standards.
- Coordinate with civil engineers, architects, contractors, and clients throughout project lifecycles.
- Oversee data processing, drafting, and final map preparation using CAD and GIS software.
- Maintain organized project documentation and ensure adherence to legal and technical standards.
- Perform and oversee complex boundary analysis, deed research, and control network adjustments.
- Provide technical guidance to survey crews, technicians, and CAD staff.
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company QA/QC procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for new business.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field a plus
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
- SIT (Surveyor-in-Training) candidates with relevant experience encouraged to apply.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in land surveying, including project management or supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong experience with boundary resolution, as-builts, construction layout, and topographic mapping.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Knowledge of GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and data collection systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving abilities.
