Job Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for shaping and leading the compensation function and reward strategy for the organization to attract, retain, engage and motivate associates. This manager position plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to align with the company's goals and competitive practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Manages the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs, ensuring administration consistency and compliance with internal polices and government regulations.
- Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and organization objectives.
- Provides counsel to corporate staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
- Creates and maintains compensation structures/bands, evaluating job descriptions and associated total rewards.
- Designs creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans, for example, the Actuarial Talent Program, ACE, and Spot Bonus programs.
- Oversees health and benefit plans, designs, and stays current on the market, adjusting for best programs, and seeks opportunities to adjust offerings.
- Manages open enrollment.
- Oversees FMLA and leave management.
- Assists with budget creation, maintenance, and adherence.
- Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data.
- Oversees the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.

- Knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations as they apply to base and incentive compensation and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret large data sets and communicate data.

Experience, Education and Certifications Required
Experience Required
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in employee compensation and total rewards
Required Educational Level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field
Certifications required/preferred
- CEBS and/or PHR/SPHR/SHRMCP/SHRMSCP strongly preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
In addition to salary, Delta Denta of New Jersey’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive awards. Available offerings may vary by geographic location, job level, skills, experience, qualifications, education and date of hire.
