About the team and the role:
eBay is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our People Experience Team! This role will be based full-time onsite (not remote) in our Runnemede, New Jersey office. As part of a dynamic team, this individual provides a full range of HR support to eBay's entities working within both a warehouse and office type environment!
People Experience is part of the Global People Team and is the face for managers and employees across the company. The team members are responsible for being experts in people-related jurisdictional knowledge and support over 7,000 employees across 3 countries on processes and queries related to the employee lifecycle. In addition, responsible for all aspects of candidate and employee experience across eBay. We drive business performance, recruiting, learning and development, compensation, benefits, people experience shared services, and people tools and technologies - and supervise the continuing evolution of the company's positive culture!
What you will accomplish:
- Build strong and influential working relationships with important team members including Operations Managers, PBP's, Legal and external vendors ensuring the delivery of effective, efficient, and professional end to end HR service.
- Drive the review and implementation of HR programs and guidelines in partnership with the broader People team
- Respond and resolve HR-related inquiries from employees, managers, Centers of Expertise and vendors via email, slack, and in person against agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Support leadership and people managers with all people related matters, including addressing employee Relations issues quickly, effectively and in line with local employment laws and regulations
- Provide recruitment & onboarding support including CV screening, and interviewing
- Liaison with eBay payroll and People Tech Systems team on employee issues as needed
- Mentor and coach People Managers providing expertise regarding employment legislation, compliance, and operational effectiveness and improvements.
- Facilitate ongoing proactive and reactive listening through interviews, focus groups, 1:1s. Synthesize insights and provide to applicable partners.
- Identify and assess training needs and support with the development and roll out of training programs.
- Support the People Business Partner with HR program delivery, including the performance review cycle process and goal setting
- Collaborate with management to address employee feedback and concerns, fostering a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
What you will bring:
- 8+ years' experience working previously as a HR Generalist
- An excellent practical knowledge of HR standard methodology policies and procedures and employment legislation in the US
- Willing to travel to other eBay sites in the US when required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Be approachable, personable, energetic, conscientious with the highest standard of integrity. A people person with a growth mindset, accessible and open to our team members, always willing to listen, assist and support with an overall customer centric approach to the HR service delivery.
- Attention to detail & a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- A passion for helping people by coaching, mentoring & supporting the business units.
- An individual with a sense of ownership and responsibility with a proven record of working on their own initiative.
- Ability to influence without authority and able to effectively hold both employees and management accountable for their actions.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and influence skills are essential to stand firm in adverse and challenging situations.
- Organized, innovative and results driven with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a dynamic, fast paced environment with productivity skills to deliver to deadlines is essential.
